Amanda Barvinchak 1994 - 2018Amanda was enrolled and on her way to becoming a naturopath doctor. She wanted to help people naturally improve their lives so that they may be healthier and live more prosperously. She developed and beat bone cancer in her left leg, but the cancer returned and took her on September 18, 2018.

Rebecca Elizabeth Edgin 1997 - 2013Rebecca was born April 21, 1997 and passed away at the age of 15 on April 16, 2013, just 5 days before she turned 16. Rebecca was a loving and kind daughter, friend, sister, cheerleader and pageant winner. She was beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. She radiated light and goodness were ever she was and always put others before herself. She carried her affliction with such strength and grace. She was a warrior princess, and will be greatly missed. Rebecca gets to celebrate in heaven with her heavenly Father.

Chase Quartarone 1993-2010Chase entered the world a healthy baby boy on May 22, 1993. Throughout his childhood and early teens it became obvious to all who knew him that he was growing into an extremely gifted young man. Chase was an outstanding 4.0 GPA student who thrived in school and loved to learn. Not only did he excel in sports, particularly baseball, but he also had an artistic side. He was developing his skills as a painter, sculptor, and his musical prowess as a pianist. And as if these weren’t enough gifts for one young man, he also loved to work in the kitchen and perfect his culinary skills. Add to this schedule a love for hanging with friends and family.

Josue Estrada 1997 - 2010Josue was a special boy and student living in a community with a large extended family. Josue was very sensitive and caring. Josue and his father were excellent musicians they both performed ballads from Mexico in their full charro outfits. They would perform in the Cinco de Mayo festivities sponsored by the Oceanside library at the Civic Center. The Lord now has another angel who can sing.

Mitchell Thorp 1990 - 2008Mitchell was a remarkable young man, a 4.0 GPA student and a gifted baseball player. He had a kind, gentle spirit. His joy and light radiated out to all who knew him. Mitchell’s life was defined by his family, his faith, and his friends, and his incredible passion for baseball. The city of Carlsbad renamed Poinsettia Park Ball Field; Thorp Field in his honor. It is at this special park where the Foundation holds many fundraising events. Mitchell’s strength and courage lives on through the Mitchell Thorp Foundation as inspiration to young athletes and children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses, diseases and disorders. Mitchell’s strength and courage have inspired many. His bible verse of strength that we read together throughout his journey was Joshua 1:9 He even named his Golden Retriever Joshua. He will be greatly missed!!
