The Triumph Together program connects collegiate and pro athletes with kids at nearby Children’s Hospitals by getting them tickets to games, meet and greets with players, signed gear, videos of encouragement before surgeries, etc.
The founder of this program, Jack Gates, was very fortunate to play Division 1 hockey and throughout his career, he realized how much of an impact athletes can make in a kid’s life, especially a kid who cannot play sports because of the terrible hand they were dealt. As his playing career came to an end, he didn’t want to stop making an impact, and that's when Triumph Together was born.
Sports are special because they give people a sense of community, hope, and most importantly something to believe in. That’s what these kids need right now. They need something to look forward to, something to believe in, and to know someone is thinking of them during those extra tough days.
