Monserrat

​Is 6 years old and is diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, myoneural disorders, chronic respiratory failure, gastrostomy status, lesion of sciatic nerve, and muscle weakness.  Monserrat is non-verbal and cannot sit or walk.  She lives with her mother and father and two other siblings.  

​She requires 24 hour care.  The mom stays at home while the father works at a car wash.  The family relies on his income for rent, food, utilities and any travel expenses due to her medical appointments.  The family reached out to the Mitchell Thorp Foundation for assistance.
